Story Writing

STORY WRITING 8 Jan 2007

Write a story with a moral value.

You could write something from your own experience or base your story purely on imagination.
A good introduction sustains the reader’s interest to continue reading.

INTRODUCTION

SETTING - to creat the mood of the story

You could start with a dialogue or description of action.

You could also use a flashback technique to trigger interest and suspense.

It could also include a general statement about the topic being discussed.

Play with the reader’s emotion.

Place Where did the incident take place, (atmosphere of place).

Time When did the incident happen – night, morning,
in darkness?

CHARACTER

Description of the person

Supporting details: honest - always speaks the truth
- never takes someone else’s property
withoutpermission
responsible - punctual, never late for school
- ensures that homework is done on time
- helps to clean the class
impolite - does not have respect for older people
- laughs at other people’s mistakes
inconsiderate – does not care for other people’s
feelings
uncooperative – does not want to contribute to group work
– fails to show commitment
physical description – has long unkempt hair
– wears dirty shoes and school uniform
