You have just completed the 2nd Mid-semester examinations. Well done!

Now, it is the one-week holiday break. Enjoy yourself relaxing for a day or two then do some serious reading and writing.

So, don’t forget to do the BP Essay, “Climate Change” in 1200 – 2000 words and pass it up as soon as you come back to school on 27 August. Read up on the climate changes from the internet but you must not copy the articles but write your own essay in your own style and words and with maturity.

Look up this website to help you with ideas for writing this topic.

Week 31 30 July to 3 August

Literature
The Sound Machine by Roald Dahl.
Read the story.
Discuss:
The characteristics of Klauser.
Was he mad, talented, creative, sincere and sympathetic when he thought he heard pain in the sounds from the tree?

Was the doctor a good friend to Klauser or was he just trying to be tolerant of his friend’s idiosyncrasies or madness when he told him that he heard the tree cry in pain?

Look up this website on Roald Dahl and write a biography on this author.
